Pilates at JouleLife
Small group personalised Pilates classes at Joule Life are a special experience. Our highly respected and sought after teacher is also a qualified Physiotherapist and Acupuncturist. Each week she will instruct and guide you to strengthen and transform your body and mind in our beautiful environmentally sensitive sunlit studio.
Classes are mat-based, using Pilates balls and foam rollers. A series of exercises are performed on our beautiful bamboo floor, using gravity and your own body weight, to provide resistance. Classes are run over a ten-week term. The benefits of Pilates come from a regular practice. Over time you will notice your body and particularly your core strength, will be stronger, your alignment and posture will be improved and you will look and feel better in your mind and body.
Benefits of pilates
Practiced regularly, Pilates is an excellent way to stay in shape claiming a long list of benefits. Pilates lengthens and stretches all the major muscle groups in the body in a balanced fashion. It improves flexibility, strength, balance and body awareness. Specifically Pilates increases muscle strength and tone, particularly, of your abdominal muscles, lower back, hips and buttocks (the core muscles of your body), balances muscular strength on both sides of your body, enhanced muscular control of your back and limbs, improved stabilization of your spine, rehabilitation or prevention of injuries related to muscle imbalances, improved physical coordination and balance, relaxation of your shoulders, neck and upper back, prevention of muscular skeletal injuries and safe rehabilitation of joint and spinal injuries. As a result of all the above, practiced regularly, Pilates has a significant effect on posture.
What to bring
You are welcome to bring your own mat or use one of ours. All other equipment such as foam rollers and Pilates balls are provided.
- Our group classes are run over a ten week period, coinciding with school terms.
- Bookings are essential and payment for the term is required in advance.
- Classes are $25 each. Ten week term is $250.
- It may be possible to claim classes on private health insurance
Terms & Conditions
Your classes cannot be carried over to another term however if you are unable to attend a class, you can invite a friend to take your place or attend a different class at a different time. We do not offer drop in classes as the benefit comes from a regular practice.

Teachers and Coaches
Simone, who has been teaching Pilates for over fifteen years, is also a qualified physiotherapist and acupuncturist. Simone’s classes draw on Pilates, physiotherapy and yoga exercises. Her classes, suitable for all ages and levels of experience are highly educational and empowering. Classes can be claimed against your private health fund.
Simone’s focus is on decompressing and lengthening the entire vertebral column, whilst strengthening the deep core and postural muscles, to support the spine in it’s new lengthened position.

Lucy is passionate about Pilates and has made it her life’s work, after seeing the incredible benefits it has repeatedly brought to clients’ lives and their health.
She offers uniquely tailored Mat based Pilates programmes for one on one or couples and group tuition for groups of maximum 4 people. One to one lessons are the ideal way to maximise the benefits, enabling specific health issues to be targeted.
Lucy’s inspirational and highly individual style of tuition has helped clients ranging in age from 14 to 93, many with specific health issues such as scoliosis, back injuries, joint replacements, arthritis, depression, plus chronic conditions – heart failure, cancer and stroke survivors. Suitable for all ages and all physical abilities.
Everyone starts at the beginning, the Fundamental techniques on the mat, building the program to establish fluid series of movements addressing specific requirements and goals.
With time and application students will be rewarded in a unique way by their commitment to learning this highly adaptable and transforming exercise method.
Private classes for Pilates are also available upon request. We have a number of excellent teachers to choose from and we will match your teacher to suit your personal preference. The price for a Private Pilates class starts at $120.
